MINI Cooper S JCW (Sold)

I'm selling my 2005 MINI Cooper S JCW after owning it from new. It's a bit special so I took the time to put together this site to show off the many factory features and dealer extras that this car has; some of those extras are even imported!

The car is is no longer for sale.

Headlines:

  • JCW Seats
    • Imported from the UK, the front and rear seats are JCW Euro-spec; they're Panther Black leather, heated and at less than two years old they're in perfect condition; this is one of the cars most unique features.
  • JCW Engine
    • The car has the JCW engine and exhaust upgrade; that's the bigger supercharger, cylinder head, injectors, airbox and exhaust system. The car was upgraded at 30,000 miles by the dealer that has serviced the car since new; I have the JCW certificate of authenticity now we're at 210BHP - this is a 2005 model so I have the closer ratio gearbox.
  • JCW Brakes
    • Uprated brakes featuring bigger front callipers and disks in red and upgraded pads at the rear
  • JCW strut brace
    • Under the bonnet is the JCW chrome strut brace linking the suspension tops to improve steering feel and response
  • JCW Steering Wheel
    • Big chunky Leather and Alcantara steering wheel
  • Sport gauges
    • Supercharger boost and battery voltage gauges at the side of the rev counter
  • Titanium wheels
    • Upgraded MINI wheels with titanium finish
  • Carbon fibre air intake
  • Sport, Cold Weather, Premium packs
    • Xenon headlights with wash, climate control HVAC, heated seats, mirrors, chrome interior trim, black bonnet stripes, etc.
  • MINI Bluetooth integrated
  • Phatbox sound system
    • 40GB disk based audio system installed in the boot where the CD changer fits; think 40GB iPod built in. I also had the speakers upgraded within the doors and rear panels; they're much improved but don't change the look of the interior.
  • Full service history from MINI main dealer
  • Black-eye Purple / Purple haze metallic exterior with black bonnet stripes and roof
  • New run-flat tires
  • Typically gets around 28mpg; the bigger JCW supercharger is actually more efficient than the standard Cooper S unit.
  • 49,100 miles; used every day on a 30 mile daily commute by me, a gentleman, a techie and IT manager... not a boy racer! It's very clean inside and has only minor imperfections outside; details below.
  • Fully dealer serviced from new with all MINI extras fitted by the dealer.
  • JCW & GB exterior badges and certificate of authenticity

Condition

The car is in very good condition inside and out; I'm very meticulous about the appearance and how it's looked after; I don't use car washes but instead use a pressure washer and soap and water. The interior is cleaned regularly and I don't use sprays or waxes, just a duster and occasionally a little soap and water.

This is the first car that I've ever owned for such a long time. It's a hoot to drive as the torque from the supercharged engine is intoxicating. I had considered some of the many MINI aftermarket upgrades available; alternatives to the JCW kit and turbo upgrades but decided that reliability and dependability were paramount so never took that route opting instead to go factory/dealer upgrades only. The result has been total reliability summer and winter and trips to the dealer that never shock!

The car was been fully serviced at the local MINI dealer where I ordered the car and has only had one item changed under warranty; that was the second stage cooling fan that had developed a rattle. The dealership knows this car well as the Euro JCW seats are so rare.

At just over 49,000 miles it's been used as my daily driver, running on 93RON fuel only; it needs that to stay healthy.

The car had its first inspection in November; it passed without problem but I had to take off the driving lights you see in the outside picture above; they're not strictly appropriate in New Jersey, apparently.

Flaws
Sadly, it's not all perfect; there are a few marks on the front bumper along the top where the light bar was and the front inside wheel has a mark on the rim; you can see it in the picture above. Inside, on the boot lip the plastic trim has some marks on the top surface where items have been loaded in and out.

Price

Kelly Blue book list the prices >here< for a stardard US spec car at between $20,000 and $22,500. I'm looking to find an enthusiast prepared to make the best offer around $21,000 which is fair I think for a $39,000 car.
